Deus Ex: Invisible War (2003)
I joined the Deus Ex: Invisible War team as a fan of the original Deus Ex (2000) and ready to become a useful part of the small audio team. This was my first game industry gig, and my primary responsibilities included handling the game’s extensive (for the time) voiceover recording and editing, from the early casting process through all final recordings, editing, effects processing and mixing.
Following the mid-project departure of the studio’s voice director, I assumed all VO direction duties including session coordination and continued casting.
Around the time of the project’s completion, publisher Eidos decided to fully localize the entirety of the VO for the German gaming market. I traveled to Hamburg, Germany in October 2003 and spent a full month working at studio Toneworx, GmbH, assisting their team in parsing the original English script and directing from the limited notes within the original script.
