
Thief: Deadly Shadows (2004)
I joined the Thief: Deadly Shadows team for the final third of the project, first attending to local voiceover casting and recording, then digging further into sound design by voicing a few creature/undead characters myself and applying further vocal and sound effects as needed.
Ion Storm experienced a round of layoffs around this time, leading me to take on further sound design duties including world objects, spellcaster and creature effects, and eventually sound design and music composition for in-game cutscene videos. Coincidentally, I had the pleasure of working with two voice actors (Stephen Russell, Alexander Brandon) who I would direct again years later on Bethesda Game Studios projects.

Upon shipping Thief, Ion storm experienced further layoffs. I was promoted to Lead Sound Designer and continued development of a new IP with the remaining team, including using a new engine and toolset. I was now responsible for all voiceover, sound design and music composition for the new project, but Ion Storm ultimately closed in February 2005.
